Manchester and Warrington Area Meeting warmly invites all Friends and attenders to come to Manchester to witness to our Testimony to Equality in a variety of ways for the many different celebrations of Manchester Pride. Everyone , very welcome.
Manchester Pride is the annual August Bank Holiday celebration of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual culture, diversity and equality and for the past 4 years, local Friends of all ages and backgrounds have sought a visible presence at this event to demonstrate our solidarity with the Gay Community. Friends who have taken part in previous years have found the experience valuable in terms of reaching out to lesbian and gay people and also learning about people's lives and the adversity that many people have experienced.
The events planned for this year are as follows:
Friday August 17th CEILIDH - from 7pm - 10pm at Mount Street Meeting House. Booking required. This is an alcohol-free family event.
Saturday August 18th Outdoor Meeting for Worship - Sackville Gardens 12 noon (please bring travel rugs and portable chairs is able).
No booking required.
Saturday August 25th PRIDE PARADE through Manchester - Begins 1pm. Numbers limited, so please tell us if you are planning to take part in the parade. If you do not feel that you can manage the parade, we would be grateful for Friends to support us in the parade audience. PLEASE CONTACT: firstname.lastname@example.org
