Friends’ meeting House, Manchester,
As Quakers, we understand the need to live sustainably and justly on this earth. Facing up to climate change is part of this challenge. We campaign for energy and climate justice and to build a fairer economy. Supporting each other in living out this commitment is a vital part of our corporate actions.
The Spring Gathering meeting is an opportunity for Manchester and Warrington Friends to discuss about sustainability and ways of responding to the unfolding environmental crisis.
The event will include:
– themes from Joanna Macy’s and Chris Johnstone’s book on Active Hope, as a way of facing the disturbing reality and responding with resilience and creative power
– Quaker spirituality themes and relevance to sustainability as a spiritual task
– Young Friends’ views on sustainability
– Open space discussions leading to specific future action points
– Shared silent worship
This event is hosted by the Manchester and Warrington Social Justice Group.
